A New Address

For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.  Colossians 1: 13 When we begin our new life with God through Christ Jesus, we are not only relationally changed, we are positionally changed.  Our old address is the domain of darkness and our new address is the kingdom of His beloved Son.  Things operate differently in this kingdom than they do at our old address.  In this kingdom we are told that the way to life is to die to ourselves, that giving is better than receiving, that miracles are the … Continue reading A New Address

The Kingdom of God

… and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.”  Luke 10:9 When Jesus sent disciples out to minister to people, He made it clear that the kingdom of God and healing are inseparable.  Healing in His kingdom is a given.  I am a child of the kingdom – the kingdom where there is no pain, no sickness, no disease, no cancer, no arthritis, no immune system disorders, none. Jesus prayed, “Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”.  One of the purposes of sending Jesus … Continue reading The Kingdom of God

Setting Things Right

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Matthew 9:35 Jesus confused people. I think it’s safe to say as much. Everywhere He walked, He left behind people scratching their heads and wondering about this man who was the carpenter’s son. He came preaching a message quite different from what people anticipated, even those who were well versed in the writings of the Old Testament prophets. He healed the sick on the Sabbath, and He delivered people from the torment of Satan, … Continue reading Setting Things Right

What’s Wrong With This Picture?

And behold, there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit: and she was bent double.  And when Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness”.  And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again, and began glorifying God.  Luke 13: 11-13 I find this fascinating.  I’ve heard and read all kinds of teachings on this passage but what stands out to me is just this.  Jesus took one look at this woman, immediately noticed not only what … Continue reading What’s Wrong With This Picture?

Really Jesus?! Children?!

The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them. Mark 10:14-15 Jesus was constantly surprising people by His word and His actions, even His disciples who had … Continue reading Really Jesus?! Children?!
