Build Your Faith

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

Every healing Jesus provided in the New Testament had one common piece. Even though the method changed this piece was present, either in the individual in need of healing or those around him.  And that element was faith!

Faith is simply believing the words of Jesus. If He said it, He meant it, if He meant it, it must be true. Our job is to settle the issue in our heart.

So the obvious next question would be – how do I build my faith?

Romans 10:17 tells us – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

One way to build faith for healing is to study what God’s word says about healing.

Meditate on scriptures that speak of healing.

Memorize these scriptures.

Here is one to start with.  You don’t need a long list, one will do you well.

Praise the Lord, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits—

who forgives all your sins

    and heals all your diseases

Psalm 103: 2-3

Speak that verse out loud daily, multiple times a day. When the symptoms are screaming loudly, speak these words.  Focus on these words and not the symptoms.  Changing the channel in our brain from worrying about the symptoms, the diagnosis, the prognosis, the limitations, etc to speaking God’s word about healing.

It is not easy and the worries and concerns will rear their ugly heads repeatedly.  When that happens, speak God’s word out loud, let the word go from your mouth to your ears and down into your spirit.

Healing is yours as a child of God. Satan knows that but he’s hoping you don’t.  Prove him wrong!

Thank You Father for sending us Your Word and healing our diseases. Thank You for watching over Your word to perform it on our behalf. Jesus was the Word made flesh and the exact representation of You. His words and actions reveal to us Your heart. Thank You for not being willing to leave us in our afflictions. Help me to settle that in my heart. Amen.
