It Is Finished

I sat in a doctor’s office the other day. Having switched insurance providers, this visit was merely an opportunity to meet each other. He had my health records from my other provider. He had seen on my record the diagnosis of fibromyalgia and mentioned that I would have that for the rest of my life. I told him that I had been healed of that some years ago. Divinely healed by God. He is a Christian and asked how did that healing happen. I told him mostly through prayer but I realized later that before the prayers, there had to be belief in God’s word. We talked for a few moments about the symptoms of arthritis in my knees. I explained that I was diagnosed with that when I was nineteen and still believing for my healing all these years later. And praying.

I have talked with a number of people who have grown discouraged in the waiting for a healing to manifest. One they and others have prayed about. It is all too easy when the waiting drags on to give up, accept that it just may not be God’s will for me to be healed. When doubt comes, I have to go back to the Bible and rebuild my faith on what God says. The proof I need to confirm my healing doesn’t lie with the presence or absence of symptoms. It rests in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. He said, “It is finished.” Everything He purposed to accomplish on the cross was complete, finished. There was nothing to add to it and nothing that could be taken away. My part is simply to believe. I say simply because we tend to make things difficult. At least, I do.

Our sins were forgiven, out debts paid and healing was purchased. He said, “It is finished” and we have the choice to believe or not believe. I choose to believe.

If you are in need of healing and would like prayer, please let me know. I would be honored to pray for you.
